Windows7 - Disabling Search Indexing

Written by Bill Casten

Windows indexing service is a service in the Windows 7 that allows searching on PCs and corporate computer networks. It is an operating system level service that maintains an index of most of the files on a computer and updates them without user intervention. Windows gives you the option of disabling search indexing. This will give your system a performance boost by freeing up the resources normally used for indexing your files.
